Spanish
PALS offers elementary, honors, and AP Spanish.

Elementary Spanish

Elementary Spanish is designed for the student with little or no prior knowledge of the language. The course emphasizes all four skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to use their newly acquired skills in order to communicate in Spanish in a realistic and culturally appropriate manner.

Spanish Honors

Spanish Honors is a two-part part of the Spanish honors sequence. In the first year, students will begin investigating the five core topics along with reviewing major grammar topics needed to speak, read and write critically in Spanish. Students will study various cultural and historic events in the Spanish-speaking world where they will be asked to compare and contrast the studied topic(s) with their own culture(s).

AP Spanish

The AP Spanish course provides students with opportunities to develop language proficiency. AP Spanish is a language acquisition course designed to provide students with the necessary skills and intercultural understanding to enable them to communicate successfully in an environment where Spanish is spoken and as such, is an immersion experience requiring exclusive use of Spanish, a requirement which the class participation grade reflects.
